Tucked into a nondescript suburban shopping center is this long, deep room lined with wooden booths paired with sky blue linen-topped tables. The name of the restaurant is derived from Shahin, the name of the owner’s son, which means “falcon.” Start with stuffed grape leaves and refreshing yogurt dip before tucking into a beef, lamb or fish kebab platter served on a mountain of saffron-tinted rice, or a signature Persian stew like fesenjan (chicken with ground walnuts and pomegranate sauce) or adas polo (basmati rice, lentils, dates, raisins and saffron served with chicken).
