Creole and Cajun dishes are this spot’s claim to fame, though the menu skews more toward fast-casual, standard American fare. The sprawling horseshoe-shaped bar and bistro kitchen fill a two-story concrete hollow near Cleveland’s trendy East 4th neighborhood. Traditional offerings include red beans and rice, mac n’ cheese, barbecue shrimp and crab cakes. We suggest the fried shrimp po’ boy, and the sweet potato fries. Also of note is the swamp bake, which features simmering blue crab, spinach and artichokes, and two cheese dips. Drinks are flamboyant---think Bourbon Street appeal---so plan accordingly (or hail a cab). Downtown parking isn’t a bother at Fat Fish, which is built right into a corner parking deck.
