THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED FLIP burger boutique Restaurant Review:
FLIP’s interior is bright, modern and convivial, with varied seating options, including a few intimate banquette spaces. A popular bar awaits guests at the entrance. Culinary creative director Richard Blais develops new, inventive burger choices. One such burger concept is a quirky take on shrimp and grits that places a blackened shrimp burger atop a grits cake. It’s interesting but we found it a little dry. Go for the classics and get the American Kobe burger, which is thick enough to order rare. It's the most expensive option at $15.99, and it's worth every cent. Try a milkshake for dessert, like the Nutella with marshmallows. FLIP’s expanded wine list enables a by-the-glass burger-appropriate selection, but reds are served too warm, although they will chill a wine glass for you if requested. Good bottled beers and a few fine local draughts are available. Also located at 1587 Howell Mill Rd. NW, 404-343-1609.
