THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Foundation Lounge Restaurant Review:

This Kenmore Square lounge inspires the use of superlative prefixes like ultra and über. As in ultra-sleek. And über-chic. And all-around hot and cool simultaneously. Naturally, the posh, split-level space, with its DJ booth and ambient soundtrack, lures scenesters; more surprisingly, it has a following among foodies thanks to its small and simple but splendid selection of zensai, the Japanese answer to tapas. Shrimp shu mai, California maki and mochi are far more exciting than they sound, their flavors super-fresh and zingy (there go those prefixes again). The downside to such success: With our expectations raised, we wish the menu were longer and took more chances. Of course, we also wish it were cheaper---$14 for an order of spring rolls is hard to stomach, even if the rolls themselves go down easy. Of course, they make the mound of greasy, yummy popcorn shrimp with chili-garlic sauce seem like a relative steal at $10. The saké list, meanwhile, is similarly short but sweet.
