About the restaurant & décor: This signature Canadian establishment has created roots at The River in Rancho Mirage. Décor is more like a gastropub than British watering hole, with a stylish long bar, a Moroccan tiled floor and punctuations of color in an open and airy space. There is live entertainment and hints of British pub traditions, including darts and shuffleboard, along with some USA mainstays such as beer pong and foosball.

Likes: Selection of beer, pub games and British overtones.
Dislikes: Location --- back side of a busy outdoor mall.

Food & Drinks: The menu features upscale, classic British comfort food with contemporary twists. Offerings range from fish and chips to the roasted beets salad tossed with goat cheese, pistachios and a marjoram sherry dressing, and a Scotch egg, a hardboiled egg wrapped in sausage then coated with breadcrumbs and baked. As the restaurant is in Southern California, look for burgers, including one made with turkey; chicken wings; nachos; and blue cheese-accented dates, too. Cocktails are handcrafted and infused with fresh ingredients and herbs, which complement the made-from-scratch fare.
