Fritto Misto Restaurant Review:

When you are in the mood for something simple, check into this friendly neighborhood trattoria. For years, Fritto Misto has served simple, very reasonably priced Italian food in generous portions. Of course, one should start with the namesake dish --- piled high with fried shrimp, calamari, artichoke hearts and seasonal vegetables, and served with garlic mayonnaise. There are salads and vegetarian specialties, but it is the "create your own pasta" that is most popular. Guests first select from a list of about twenty styles of pasta, which can then be layered with sauces like sage cream or cilantro-chili pesto, as well as a variety of ingredients such as sausage, pancetta, filet mignon tips and anchovies, to name a few. Desserts are made in house --- think flourless chocolate cake or lemon bars --- and there is a brief wine list.
