The Front Yard Restaurant Review

: The Front Yard, located at The Garland hotel in North Hollywood, serves farm-fresh seasonal dishes for three meals daily. A big patio framed by brown brick walls sports mismatched lounge seating, strings of lights and a fire pit. The dining room touts plush tan booths, a white stalactite-type ceiling, caged copper globe chandeliers that hold glass balls, and rod lighting with bulbs at both ends above the bar. The menu has dishes of all sizes to feed variable appetites. Bites include chorizo deviled eggs and green garbanzo hummus paired with herb-flecked flatbread and crunchy radishes. The menu continues with salads, flatbreads, sides, main dishes (burger, gnocchi, etc.) and larger plates for sharing, such as whole branzino, fried chicken and sliced rib-eye with chimichurri sauce, shishito peppers, fingerlings and maitake mushrooms. For dessert, butterscotch pudding is sprinkled with sea salt, topped with vanilla bean whipped cream and plated with spicy caramel popcorn. Drinks includes "mixes," California beer and wine. Lunch's leading sandwich is the El Cubano with hickory-smoked pork shoulder, crispy Serrano ham, Swiss and house pickles on a pressed baguette.
