THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fuentes Restaurant Review:

Wappo Bar & Bistro owner Michelle Mutrux pays tribute to her Mexican heritage at this 50-seat restaurant. When it initially opened as Wappo Taco, it developed a following for exceptionally prepared duck confit tacos. Then Mutrux changed the name to Fuentes and created a small-plates menu that elevates Mexican specialties with international touches. A favorite example is the classic chili relleno served with cream sauce and pomegranate molasses. Queso fundido is studded with fresh corn, zucchini, mushrooms and scallions and served with fresh house-made corn tortillas. A bit of the Mediterranean is seen with lamb albondigas served with a yogurt-dill sauce. Spain is represented by traditional cod fritters to be dipped in a spicy aïoli. This same aïoli also finds itself aside pequeño frito, a selection of perfectly fried fish. A standard selection of Mexican beers is available but consider the house-made sangría or horchata for a more interesting beverage option.
