Garaje Restaurant Review: Sure there are tacos, and deconstructed tacos, and lots of beer and hot sauce at this counter-service joint. But for hearty appetites, Garaje offers much more, as the menu says, food that "goes with beer." Tacos use organic corn tortillas and come in eight varieties with a range of flavorful meats, fish and seafood. Zapatos are a panini-meets-quesadilla approach to a Mexican-inspired sandwich, stuffed with choices such as carnitas or our pick, steak and prawns. Big, notable burgers, pulled-pork tostaditas and salads ensure there's something for anyone --- anyone who's hungry anyway. Simple, diner-style tables and booths, with power outlets for the wired set, give a comfortable dark-bar feel even in the middle of the day. The concise selection of beers on tap is above average. |
