: Lakewood’s Georgetown offers modern American fare in a sleek urban setting. The dining room boasts upscale touches with clean lines and focused lighting. It’s sophisticated, but still casual. A wrought iron fence and tall, weepy trees and plants surround the large courtyard that nearly doubles the restaurant’s seating capacity in warmer months. Both dining spaces are striking canvases that set the stage for the food that follows. Appetizers are imaginative and approachable. We suggest the Maine lobster pizza topped with manchego cheese and cipollini onions or the short rib mini sliders finished with Brie. (Note to light eaters: Many of the small plates could easily be turned into a satisfying meal by adding one of the salads or soups. Try the pear and Gorgonzola salad.) The list of entrées is diverse and changes seasonally, but it has included duck breast served with a sweet potato hash and duck bacon, as well as the Bolognese, which is rich and meaty. Wines are well selected with a solid by-the-glass section. Desserts are also noteworthy, particularly the crème brûlée. Sunday brunch is a popular pick for locals. |
