: Some of the best hot dogs come from this charming old bungalow in the Montrose area. Inside you’ll find cozy counter service and dachshunds (sometimes real, more likely statues). Hot dogs are Texas-made, all-beef wieners from Black Hill Ranch and you can build your own version or go with one of the signatures. We like the “Ol’Zapata” nestled in an artisanal buttered bun from Slow Dough Bread Co. topped with bacon, Muenster cheese, caramelized onions and jalapeño relish. It has just enough spice and it pairs well with “short bus” house-made potato chips. Additionally, choose from all kinds of big sandwiches and salads as well as munchies such as hot pretzel rolls with mustard, fried pickles, smoked hot wings and fresh onion dips with the aforementioned chips or veggies. Beer and wine are served along with some killer thick milkshakes. Don’t forget the homemade goodies for dessert. The owners still have the food truck they started out with years ago and it’s available for catering events. |
