Gordo Taqueria Restaurant Review:

The 9th Avenue location of this popular Bay Area chain offers perhaps the best representation of a San Francisco-style burrito one will find outside of the Mission District. Ask any local from either side of the park, and you will get an exacting answer for how best to spec a Gordo burrito. Options abound, but for nearly two decades we have sworn by the spinach tortilla with cheese, chopped crispy carnitas, black beans, everything (tomatoes, guac and sour cream), hot sauce, peppers and cilantro. If carnitas aren't your thing, try the moist pastor or the smoky grilled chicken. Long lines at midday are worth the wait and prep the uninitiated for the type of decisive ordering area denizens demand. The messy, hand-rolled tacos are also worth a try. A host of Mexican sodas and fruit drinks fill the case, but we prefer a cold bottle of sangría. If you’re hungry, skip the chips and instead order your burrito “super.”
