Usually this type of neighborhood bar serves fairly ordinary food, but Gregory’s surprises. A plate of tortilla chips with creamed spinach and black bean dip is quite tasty. The deep-fried shrimp are breaded and fried to order, not pre-breaded and frozen. Soups are made from scratch, and there’s an intriguing salad of grilled salmon on baby greens with Chinese noodles and almonds, topped with a fat-free toasted-sesame-seed dressing. Prime rib, steaks and grilled salmon round out the menu. See if the cobbler is available for dessert; it’s good and large enough for two.
