THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Grotto Restaurant Review:
Grotto is part of the revered family-owned Vallone Group that dishes up hearty favorites in a rustic, yet inviting, setting. Pizzas are a specialty, with choices ranging from the simple-Margherita cheese-to the sublime-di Mare, with shrimp, calamari, tomatoes and mozzarella. Everything else on the menu is a winner, too. First try the zuppa maritata, a traditional wedding soup broth with chicken meatballs, Italian greens and pasta. For a main course, consider the snapper scarpariello, a crispy-crusted filet served with jumbo shrimp and a lemon/garlic sauce. Veal scallopine dishes are dusted in Parmesan and served with a choice of mushrooms, artichoke hearts or peppers, tomatoes and goat cheese. Pasta dishes also excel here, so you may want to beg your dinner companion to work a deal to share entrées.
