THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW A PRIVATE EVENT SPACE Guastavino's Restaurant Review:

Leave it to British restaurant impresario, Sir Terrence Conran, to turn a marginal, underused location into one of New York's most visually impressive restaurants. Guastavino's is named for the father-son team responsible for the extraordinary arching white tiles that gleam over the heads of diners in this once-abandoned space under the 59th Street bridge. The kitchen, headed by Michael Lomonaco (formerly of Windows on the World and Noche), serves up staples like roasted wild striped bass and pan-roasted sea scallops, as well as more meatier entrées like double-cut lamb chops and a juicy 12-ounce dry aged Black Angus NY strip steak. And then there's the raw bar: choose from East Coast or West Coast oysters (which come with spicy chili sauce), clams, chilled mussels, three different types of ceviche, and yellow fin tuna crudo. It's enough to make you jump into the nearby East River afterward.
