![]() : In 1990, three immigrants from Egypt launched this enterprise in New York City beginning with a street food cart that scored big with the city's Muslim taxi drivers. Today, The Halal Guys is a multi-unit network of franchised operations in the U.S., the Philippines and South Korea. A former fast-food restaurant, the Atlanta location was easily adapted to The Halal Guys' requirements; bright colors and a vibrant vibe add to the appeal. Chicken and beef are the animal proteins for sandwiches or platters, and may be ordered as a combo. Don't pass up the quite tangy white and red sauces. Vegetarians will want the very good falafel. You can get it as a gyro or a platter with rice and salad, either piled into an aluminum pie plate that's easily topped with a cover for transport purposes. The only dessert is pretty decent house-made baklava. No alcohol. |
