Happy Garden’s menu covers all the bases, from chop suey to pu pu platters, along with oddities such as pizza and cheesesteak egg rolls. Portions are immense. Choices include jjampong, a Korean spicy seafood noodle soup; Korean sweet-and-sour pork with kimchi; and volcano rice, an intriguing fried rice creation shaped like a volcano. Paper-wrapped chicken, broccoli beef, hot-and-sour soup, fried shrimp, and broccoli with a hot garlic sauce are also popular. The cooks are especially skilled at dialing the spice level up and down to accommodate different heat tolerances. Service is warm and friendly. Don't be put off by the exterior, as the interior is much more attractive than the surroundings suggest.
