THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Harvest on Huron Restaurant Review:
Alan Sternweiler is one of the citys most inventive chefs, and his global cooking makes this clubby, art-adorned restaurant a favorite for serious diners---and drinkers, thanks to a first-rate wine list and a fine collection of Cognac, Armagnac and single-malt Scotches. The problem is that the place has a split personality: When the central couch-laden bar crowds up with revelers, the dining area becomes unbearably noisy. Lunch tends to be quieter, and you can still enjoy creations like barbecued shrimp mojito on sticks of sugar cane with papaya-mint salsa and creamy vanilla sauce. Entrées include oak- and cherrywood-grilled steaks, simply sauced fish and interesting vegetarian dishes. Indulgent chocolate desserts sparkle. The deceptively laid-back service can be terrific---or not, depending on how busy the staff is.
