Hash House A Go Go Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: A sophisticated take on comfort food might best describe this cheerful restaurant's cuisine. Hash House A Go Go's San Diego-based founder calls it twisted farm food.

Food & Drinks: Breakfast dishes include House Hashes, such as house-smoked salmon and cream cheese tossed with crispy potatoes and topped with two scrambled eggs; and the towering Andy's famous sage fried chicken with eggs and bacon mashed potatoes. Among platter-size flapjacks are blueberry-pecan and Snickers. For lunch, we suggest the Kokomo --- griddled meatloaf with roasted tomato and smoked mozzarella on old-fashioned milk bread, and the grilled portobello mushroom sandwich. Andy's crispy Indiana-style hand-hammered pork tenderloin with caramelized onions, fresh spinach, horseradish mashed potatoes, grilled corn on the cob and more is a dinner winner. Weekend brunch specialties range from one-pound burgers stuffed with a choice of mushroom and Swiss, roasted red pepper and griddled smoked mozzarella, bacon and mashed potato or blue cheese; to the hashes of traditional corned beef and Swiss cheese, and fragrant roasted chicken with asparagus and rosemary. Specialty drinks like an iced pistachio mocha and a fruit cobbler for dessert may cap Hash House A Go Go's hearty dining.
