THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Deep blues and rich lighting bring a luxurious feel to this sprawling downtown space, and it’s magnified by the effusive service. But diners will appreciate the extra help navigating the menu --- divided into Raw, Vegetables, Starters and Meat & Seafood categories, plus a “Let The Chef Decide” tasting menu option. Within the four categories, each dish comes listed with a paired cocktail. Staff guide diners through the various sections, with the Raw encompassing ceviches, crudos, oysters, beef tartare and lamb carpaccio, and the Vegetables ranging from a velvety yellow corn soup with Dungeness crab lumps to a wild mushroom Bolognese. There is no distinct style at play, so you can hop from fried sweetbreads with celery jam and peach hot sauce to start into a roasted scallop with puffed rice as a main. The cocktail pairing brings flavors from the food into the glass --- curry, lime and black pepper, among others --- though it can be overwhelming by the end. The excellent wine list offers reprieve with bottles from France, Italy, Washington and California, mostly.
