Hickory House Restaurant Review:

At this old log house on the edge of town, the scene often reminds us of the café in the (still remembered?) TV series Northern Exposure, with its mix of mountain types in flannel shirts and Peterbilt cap, and Aspen swells, all here for the down-home breakfasts and barbecue specials. There’s even a separate-but-equal room for smokers and an outdoor patio right on Main Street. When you’ve been out late the night before, nothing beats the breakfast burrito or stack of blueberry pancakes. When you’re in the mood to defy your diet, try the hickory-smoked beef and pork barbecue sandwiches. And when you’ve put in a hard day hiking the trails or schussing the black diamond runs, you can allow yourself the baby-back ribs or the Kentucky fried catfish for dinner, accompanied by a pile of onion rings. Of course there’s beer (and wine) to bring it all together. Also located at 10335 S. Parker Rd., Parker, 303-805-9742.
