hoF Restaurant Review

: This small café a stone’s throw off bustling Huai Hai Zhonglu has a European feel, which is probably not surprising as that’s where Malaysian chef Brian Tan learned his trade. While there are light eats available, the real reason to visit is for the cakes and cocktails. Pretty much anything chocolate is a surefire winner while sipping a Shanghai Mei Mei, a mixture of waxberry juice, vodka, lime and rose syrup. Sea salted orange mud cake is a particular specialty. There are a number of other branches around town, some trading as House of Flour. While expensive by Shanghai standards, Tan prides himself on the quality of ingredients he uses.
