Home Wine Kitchen’s No Menu Monday is a favorite of local foodies thanks to chef Cassandra Vires’ verve at whipping up individual dishes that match diners’ likes and dislikes. Not that there’s anything wrong with the regular menu, except perhaps its very short length. Then again, Vires updates it weekly with dishes like veal chops with onion and horseradish, savory apple tart with red onions and pecans, or beef tartare with mustard aïoli and radish shoots. For brunch, the shrimp and grits with sausage and bacon are the stuff of legend. Wine comes in dual lists. One offers every bottle for $30 and every glass for $8; the other has more high-end bottles.
