Brennans of Houston Brennan's Brings Back the Kitchen Table
The beloved Brennan’s of Houston has been up and running since February, when the historic restaurant completed extensive renovations after being damaged by fire during Hurricane Ike in 2008. And now the restaurant has brought back its Kitchen Table, a popular 12-seat table that looks directly into the kitchen where chef Danny Trace and crew work their culinary magic. The table is available for dinner from 5:45 to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (excluding holidays). To make reservations, call the restaurant at 713-522-9711. The table offers a seven-course tasting menu ($155 with wine pairings; $80 without) and plenty of kitchen theater to boot. Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith St., Houston, TX 77006, 713-522-9711.

Schiller Del Grande Announces Two New Concepts
The folks behind RDG + Bar Annie and The Grove, the Schiller Del Grande Restaurant Group, are working on two new eateries for the Upper Kirby multi-use center called West Ave. On the ground floor, Ava will be a Euro-styled casual bar and restaurant with a Mediterranean-American menu and patio along Kirby Drive. Upstairs will be Pizzeria Alta, a spot for late night cocktails and gourmet pizzas and pasta. No design details yet, but the group is hoping to have both eateries up and running by December. RDG + Bar Annie , BLVD Place, 1800 Post Oak Blvd., Houston, TX 77056, 713-840-1111.
