Pay your £1.50 day membership to this private arts club and enter a realm of creative barflies propping up the mezzonine bar and creative cooking from the subterranean kitchen. Chef Phillip Owens is accomplished at producing simple but first-rate Italian dishes, but he’s also versatile enough to turn out better Thai food than most of London’s Thai restaurants do. Service can be flaky and slow, but some would say that’s all part of the art-house charm.
