Located in Pacific Palisades’ commercial district, Il Piccolo Ritrovo is an inviting trattoria with an extensive menu of reliable pastas and thin-crusted pizzas emerging from an 800-degree wood-burning oven imported from Naples. Begin with great bread and simple but high quality burrata served over fresh greens, beef carpaccio or fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with mozzarella and anchovies. Pastas include homemade casarecci filled with ricotta and spinach, lasagna Bolognese or gnocchi, while a selection of main courses features veal scaloppine with mushrooms and creamy Marsala sauce, or cioppino. Wash it down with a Chianti Classico and finish with tiramisu or strawberry crostada.
