THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Il Sole Restaurant Review:
Consistently inconsistent unfortunately defines Lincoln Roads newest Italian neighbor. Superb, if pricey, starters are generous and whet the appetite, insinuating that the best may be yet to come. Sadly, however, some entrées pale in comparison. While seafood tartares, carpaccio and main-course salads are infallible, pastas are blasé and nondescript. Too many items are over-salted. Well be patient with this restaurant, however, before jumping to any conclusions. The menu of summery Italian cuisine shows promise, and Il Soles superb wines by the glass are rare treats. With the rapid success the owners have experienced since opening their doors, they have been what restaurant industry know-it-alls would refer to as slammed since day one; we hope the food soon consistently matches this success.
