THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Isis Restaurant Review:
Ride the private elevator to this intimate second-floor restaurant decorated with Egyptian tomb treasure replicas, which almost make us feel as if we're dining in the Egyptian wing of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The imaginative fare features Continental classics, with starters such as assorted seared foie gras over brandy- and port-stewed figs accompanied by an apple chutney tartlet. We enjoy the Dover sole meunière, which is deboned tableside, and the butter-poached lobster over truffled risotto. Meat lovers like the Trio of the Gods---veal scaloppini, a lamb chop and grilled tenderloin with roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Seasonal fruit flambé, cherries jubilee, bananas Foster and crêpes Suzette are prepared tableside with flair. The soothing sounds of a piano player can be heard in Isis's adjoining lounge.
