Japonessa Sushi Cocina Restaurant Review

: Japonessa’s interior has a modern, sexy glow, with black ceilings, chunky chandeliers and eclectic mirrors. Yellowtail roll highlighted with pico de gallo; octopus seasoned with cilantro oil and a roasted tomato-lime mignonette: the meshing of Spanish and Japanese traditions is unique and interesting. For a close look at how the sushi rolls come together, sit at the sleek sushi bar. In the dining room, enjoy sushi rolls or stir-fried noodles packed with vegetables and your choice of salmon, chicken or portobello mushrooms. Signature rolls from the regular sushi menu bring together creative ingredients, such as spicy filet mignon drizzled with a jalapeño garlic la-yu sauce. There’s an almost all-day happy hour (consider the Super Bad Boy Roll and the Spicy Crunch Roll). Capable bartenders do justice to the full bar with its ample offerings of Northwest wine and beer, plus a good selection of saké, but we recommend one of the creative cocktails. For dessert, order an Asian-flavored ice cream that might be lychee, mango or coconut.
