THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES JeanRo Bistro Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO THE BISTRO. This charming bistro is the most authentic French place in Cincinnati---and it’s much easier on the pocketbook than noted chef Jean-Robert de Cavel's other ventures, including the former Pigall's. Both the menu, with its old-fashioned typeface and familiar offerings, and the cheerful, attractive setting evoke the experience of dining at a homey, side-street Parisian bistro. We recommend starting with soup---either French onion or split pea---on a cold day. Then, take your time savoring dishes such as filet of tenderloin with blue cheese ravioli, mushrooms, pommes rösti and sauce espagnole; and sautéed scallops with cucumber orzo salad and lime beurre noisette. The wine list is respectable and easily navigable, with mostly European and a few Californian labels; bottles are half-price on Sundays.
