Decades after shuttering its doors---and sending hundreds of its faithful home lunch-less for at least a day---legendary hot dog vendor Joe & Nemo’s has reopened in the shadowy and skyscrapered reaches of the Financial District. Flashier in look and concept than ever before, the dogs are still the thing and the crowds have returned, especially suits at lunchtime and tourists en route to or from Downtown Crossing’s. Toppings aplenty are on hand (fine sauerkraut, chunky relish, mustard with actual spice) and we can’t fault something, let alone hot dogs at Joe & Nemo’s, that is what it is: a quick, cheap, satisfying bite.
