![]() : Owner John Konstin has (smartly) gotten a lot of mileage from the fact that this grill was a favorite hangout of author Dashiell Hammett, as well as Hammett’s fictional character, Sam Spade. Like other grills of the period, its food has an Italian flavor. Specialties include steaks, pork chops and fish. The chicken Jerusalem is a good classic, and the seafood dishes are satisfying, especially the shrimp Louie. Pasta dishes round out the menu. Take time to peruse the memorabilia, including a copy of the infamous Maltese Falcon --- famously stolen for real from the restaurant in 2007. |
