THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Journeys at Alaqua Restaurant Review:

Chef Bram Fowler and wife Geraldine have moved their Journeys restaurant to the Alaqua Country Club, and the location may seem more than a bit out of the way, but once you settle into the spacious dining room, you’ll see why the couple is so happy there. There’s a separate bar, al fresco tables overlooking the ninth hole of the country club’s golf course, and plenty of room for weddings and catered affairs that were impossible at their former cozy digs. Fowler favorites still are on the menu, such as the tiger prawns with South African peri peri reduction and the juicy Kobe beef burger at lunchtime. While the menu celebrates ideas from their world travels, the kitchen pays close attention to locally sourced products, like Waterkist Farms tomatoes, pork from Palmetto Creek Farms and seasonal fruits and vegetables including Plant City strawberries. The diverse dinner menu includes everything from scallops and pan-seared salmon to house-braised short ribs and country meatloaf with beef and lamb. We also recommend the crème brûlée. Sunday brunch gives chef Fowler the chance to stretch his repertoire with goat’s milk yogurt, buttermilk fried chicken over Southern biscuits and cinnamon raisin french toast---and a Bloody Mary bar with all the fixings.
