![]() : Kailash Parbat, a kosher Indian vegetarian restaurant that’s named after the sacred Himalayan mountain, serves Punjabi and Sindhi food. This diner-like establishment has a small wine list and full bar that includes yogurt-based cocktails, such as sharabi lassi. The bar for chaat --- Mumbai street snacks --- has a dozen offerings ranging from bhel puri to a crispy corn basket, tikki chaat and dahi wada. Other starters are aloo tuk (crisp potatoes), gobi Manchurian (cauliflower fritters in an Asian sauce) and paneer hariyali (cheese and spinach), plus street-food curries with naan and roti breads. Ask the waiter to help guide you through the hundreds of other unusual offerings. Skip the hot American brownie with ice cream for the Indian gulab jamun warm fried dumplings in sugary syrup. |
