THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Karavas Restaurant Restaurant Review:
If track records count, this restaurant is destined for fame. The owner has many years of experience in commercial kitchens and seven restaurants behind him, including venues in New York. Formerly Ditkas, Karavas is situated in a huge space, so there are several dining rooms (some with TVs), a bar and cocktail lounge, an outside screened-in patio area and more. The menu focuses on Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Starters include a Flaming Cheese appetizer and stuffed portobello mushrooms. A favorite is clams Casino---clams topped with peppers, onions and bacon and seasoned with bread crumbs. Entrées include chicken breast stuffed with spinach and feta cheese, moussaka and shrimp Sandorini (jumbo shrimp, fresh tomatoes and feta cheese over linguine). Naturally, there is rack of lamb and leg of lamb roast as well as lots of Greek side dishes like spinach pie. Greek desserts, including baklava, rule.
