Locals rave about the calzone and the New York-style pizza crusts, but Karim’s is more than that. As the resident restaurant at this renovated Gulf-front motel, it serves all day, everything from Mediterranean omelets for breakfast to duck framboise (half a roasted duck served with a fresh mango sauce) and veal Karim (scaloppine of veal sautéed in port with artichoke hearts, mushrooms and prosciutto ham). There’s even a rack of lamb on the evening menu as well as vegetarian couscous. We like the lunch touches like saffron Mediterranean chicken sandwich, chicken breast marinated in garlic and saffron then grilled and served in a pita pocket with tatziki sauce.
