Kiran’s Restaurant Review:

Kiran’s, the eponymous Indian restaurant by chef Kiran Verma on the edge of Levy Park in Upper Kirby, is bigger and better than the old location. From the hammered brass door with Hindi script to the elegant main dining room, everything is lush yet contemporary and comfortable. It’s all very much like the food Verma serves: traditional Indian dishes with just a hint of modernization. Try the spicy duck confit hot out of the tandoori oven or the bison meatballs in curry. Bar bites, mostly house-made chutneys, dumplings, savory samosas and chaat masala fries, are available in the bar area. The cocktail menu has been expanded, as has the wine list and 20 personal wine lockers are on offer. If you’re stopping in for afternoon tea, go for a hot chai and the pistachio macaroons.
