THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Fondita Restaurant Review:
This Heights-area Mexican hideaway serves eye-opening breakfasts, homey lunches and surprisingly elaborate dinners. Chef-owner Fernando Gallegos has created a modern Latin American restaurant that can be embraced by all cultures. For something refreshingly different, we suggest the ceviche---one version here sports fish marinated with oranges, cucumbers, hearts of palm, jicama and carrots. A seafood entrée of pan-seared red snapper crowned with tropical pico de gallo and a pan butter sauce also delights. The popular Frango Bahia is a char-grilled chicken breast made exotic with grilled pineapple and palmitos, topped with a spicy Brazilian Bahian sauce. Homemade sangría packed with fresh fruit is the perfect accompaniment. At breakfast, expect fresh-squeezed juices and good strong coffee along with a variety of satisfying dishes.
