THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Pergola Restaurant Review:
One of the more distinctive Italian restaurants in the Valley, this charmer evokes the Tuscan countryside. Its main dining room offers comfortable seating at flower-topped tables beneath a beamed ceiling, amid an impressive collection of Italian ceramics. Much of the produce that goes into the Northern Italian cooking comes straight from chef/owner Tino Pettignano's 6,000-square-foot organic vegetable garden. An exhaustive list of nightly specials complements the conventional trattoria menu. We like the traditional fried calamari, seasonal zucchini flowers, chicken cooked in a sherry or lemon sauce, and rigatoni with butternut squash. There are also quite a few veal and fish preparations. For dessert, there's the ubiquitous tiramisu, spumoni and gelato. We've always lamented the fact that this delightful restaurant is not widely recognized beyond its loyal Valley clientele.
