THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Tourelle Restaurant Review:
La Tourelle is the oldest fine dining restaurant in Memphis. Located in a 1910s bungalow with a round tower, it has a modern look yet a romantic coziness. The menu is contemporary but with a definite French accent and hints of Italian and other cuisines. Appetizers include pan-seared foie gras with caramelized peaches and crab meat Sardou. Entrées range from John Dory in a shellfish bourride and pine nut-crusted sea bass to veal chop saltimbocca. For dessert, there's lavender crème brûlée and a Zinfandel-marinated cherry tart with chocolate. Thoughtful wine list. The casual bistro upstairs serves a separate three-course Creole menu and wines at lower prices.
