THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lai Lai Dumpling House Restaurant Review:
Neither location of Lai Lai Dumpling House is much to look at. This Memorial location is a tad roomier but just as devoid of décor as the tiny Bellaire Boulevard original. But the shortcomings in the ambience can easily be overlooked because of the hefty portions of delicious, cheap eats (nothing on the menu is over six bucks) that Lai Lai has delivered to hungry Houstonians through the years. The dumplings are top-notch, big, moist thick-skinned pockets full of flavorful fillings. With eleven varieties to choose from pan fried, boiled or steamed, go ahead and try the assortment to get the most out of the experience. The soups and noodle dishes are terrific, and dont overlook the other offerings like the chicken Lai Lai with broccoli and the crispy shrimp with ginger and green onion. If you are eating in, a nice touch is to try the do-it-yourself instructions on the menu and concoct your own tasty dumpling sauce from the assortment of condiments on your table.
