THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Cafe Anglais Restaurant Review:

One of London’s favorite chefs, Rowley Leigh, left Kensington Place, the restaurant that was one of the first to replace formal fine dining for casual, relaxed fine dining many years ago, and opened this restaurant in Whiteleys shopping centre. The refurbished décor is light, bright and spacious with a gleaming Art Deco-style oyster bar. The open kitchen centres around a huge rôtisserie where chickens, poussin, beef, game and fish slowly revolve. The menu is a pleasing catch-all: an hors d’oeuvres section offers a mix-and-match at £4.50 each. First courses range from oysters to eel and bacon salad, and mains from grilled sea bass to steaks. The wine list is relatively small but travels far and wide; service is delightful. The restaurant is on the first floor of Whiteleys, though you can enter via the Porchester Gardens entrance. And if you are shopping in Whiteleys during the week, there’s a 2-course set lunch at £18.50 and 3 courses at £24.50 to set you up for the afternoon.
