Le Papagayo Restaurant Review:

Le Papagayo is a friendly, funky place, known for its bright artwork, eclectic menu and live music. Tables are packed together with families and couples, young and old, enjoying tropical drinks and a mix of cuisines: California meets Pacific Rim, with Mediterranean, French and Latin influences. But if it's not Tuesday with happy hour prices all night, the menu can feel a tad overpriced for mediocre food. However, if you're in the mood for music, great drinks and snacks with friends, it's a fun place. Start with a mojito to settle into the laid-back Leucadia vibe, then share small plates like a fig and blue cheese flatbread, crab cakes or calamari. The Wahine salad sports mango, hearts of palm, hazelnuts and avocado in a mango mint vinaigrette. Thai mussels bath in ginger, coconut and peanut sauce, while the Pacific Rim bouillabaisse features scallops, shrimp, mussels and the catch of the day in a light coconut red curry broth. Trains blast by, neighboring tables chat, smiling servers swerve through the crowd and the beats of world music fill the air.
