: Modern northern California cuisine meets eclectic cocktails, a fine collection of whiskeys, bourbons and scotch, along with a good selection of craft beer and wines, all in a chic industrial space with a communal atmosphere. A joint effort by Stephen Shelton and Jimmy Marino (who also own Black Sheep Brasserie in San Jose), The Lexington House (named for the nearby reservoir) focuses on seasonal food nicely prepared by chef Philippe Breneman. You no longer have to find a French restaurant to enjoy frogs' legs: with their creamy, spicy and cheesy sauce, these are reason enough to return. Delicately rendered scallops with braised bitter greens and toasted pecans dressed with an en pointe balance of citrus and garlic handsomely cover the full flavor spectrum. Desserts are seasonal and just right: dark chocolate pecan pie with bourbon ice cream and spiced pumpkin parfait. After dinner wines, too. |
