THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Liberty Noodles Restaurant Review:
Since moving from its funky original location on a dumpy side street off Lower Greenville, Liberty is no longer inconvenienced by a crummy parking lot, crowded dining room and small kitchen, but it has also lost some of its groove. Granted, having a full bar is a big plus, but the new location has a more corporate, designer feel to it. And the menu, which was quite daring when Liberty debuted in 1997 as the only high-class Pan-Asian noodle joint in town, now reads more like a comfy group of the usual Pan-Asian suspects. Portions are big and the food is good, though not as consistent as one would like. A few dishes, like the Laotian beef salad, pad Thai, and green Thai curry are always standouts, but too often dishes are disappointing, not bad, but not what one expects from the kitchen of chef Annie Wong.
