THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED LightCatcher Winery & Bistro Restaurant Review:
LightCatcher owner-chef-winemaker Caris Turpen serves up a decent crab cake and lamb choplette, but many of the wines are best described as “drinkable." Still, it’s worth the trip out to Lake Worth just to have a tasty lunch or dinner and enjoy the atmosphere of a working winery as you nibble your crispy Texas 1015 onion rings with spicy aïoli. Or, savor New Zealand green lip mussels steamed in white wine, butter and herbs, paired with a side of roasted asparagus with grated Parmesan or the signature fried spinach ball (only in Texas). Indulge in rich, Southern-style desserts such as peach bread pudding with warm sangría butter sauce. The food is good, the scenery is pretty, and another Texan with some oak barrels and a dream is a beguiling proposition. The winery is open every day.
