: This longtime local hangout is famous for its coco puffs --- cream puffs filled with cocoa pudding --- and Chantilly cake, a chocolate sponge cake slathered with a buttery frosting sprinkled with macadamia nut pieces. That's just the beginning of the lineup of cakes, pies and pastries. Most people order their baked goods to go, and frozen packs of coco puffs are available for those heading to the airport. Locals often take advantage of the classic Formica counter, so you can sit on a swivel chair and enjoy basic diner fare, too. This is the place to go at 2 a.m. to see people ending a night on the town with a stack of pancakes (the batter is also for sale), or a gravy-slathered loco moco. Steak and eggs, burgers, a mahi sandwich and more are available, at all hours, along with waffles that may be ordered extra crispy, with or without blueberries. Also located on Nimitz Highway. |
