Madison Bistro Restaurant Review:

Quaint, quiet and unassuming best describes this Madison Avenue bistro where an amply lit bi-level dining space and colorful modern artwork make for a comfortable and personable dining experience. There are few surprises on the French-accented menu, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead, simple and well-prepared French classics rule the kitchen here: Prince Edward Island mussels simmered in white wine sauce and duck liver pâté to start, followed by traditional main courses like tender hanger steak with pomme croquettes, filet of sole topped with a luscious Jerusalem artichoke purée, and duck a l'orange. All of this is paired with a small wine-by-the-glass list that sticks mostly to France.
