Mamaleh's Delicatessen Restaurant Review:
This Jewish delicatessen in Kendall Square offers hot pastrami sandwiches with a half-sour pickle and the Barney Greengrass on an onion bialy with sturgeon, cream cheese, tomato and cucumber. Nosh on the classics: latkes, blintzes, matzoh ball soup and caviar on griddled challah with egg salad, or salmon that’s house-cured, cold-smoked or kippered on a pumpernickel bagel. Can't decide? Consider the Jewish Pupu Platter that includes chopped liver, schmaltz on toast, pastrami knish, potato knish, pickles and kreplach. Chase these with an old-fashioned soda, egg cream, dill-flavored shots of Aquavit or a boozy milkshake. For dessert, try the black-and-white cookies.
