![]() : Fresh and seasonal ingredients are highlighted at this mountain resort restaurant overseen by chef Stanley Miller. Furthering Manzanita's appeal are its splashy interior design with a fireplace and Northstar California resort mountain views, especially from the large patio, with covered terrace, weather permitting. The bar near the entrance has an embedded ice rail --- a clever feature that keeps your beer cool. An interactive culinary experience can be had at the chef's table, which seats up to eight people. The large, segmented dining room can also be sectioned off to create a private area. French onion soup is served with the requisite layer of Gruyère cheese and rafts of thyme croutons. At lunch, diners can customize their burgers with several choices of cheese and toppings like sautéed mushrooms, avocado and balsamic glazed onions. Other sandwiches, handmade tagliatelle pasta and pizzas round out the menu, with dinner bringing hearty entrée options such as braised short rib, free-range chicken and smoked pork chop. For an après-ski or summertime treat, guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe can roast some of the restaurant's house-made marshmallows over the outdoor fire from 4 p.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. |
